When it comes to delivery, women of this age have somehow began opting for the seemingly painless cesarean section, however they tend to forget that in such delivery only the delivery part is painless and there are so many disadvantages, pain and other problems that stretches the body of women limitlessly.

One among them is the abnormally shapeless body with the part of the lower tummy hanging loosely below the stitched area, called the ?pregnancy pouch?. Fat seems to accumulate very easily at this place and your tummy looks so bulged that people keep asking you whether you are pregnant again.

Well, if you work a bit hard you would surely be able to reduce this little baby bump from your tummy, let us see how to go about it.

Step 1. Take It Slowly

Caesarean section or normal delivery, both make your body tender, so do not immediately begin worrying about your body. After your delivery you should not immediately take up to thinking up to dieting or exercise program, so take some time so that your body and mind recuperates.

How Long Should You Wait

You can wait till your caesarean scar totally is healed and you do not have the need to protect it. This usually takes from one month to three months. Till then you have to take care of your body.

Step 2. Concentrate on Your Diet

Add more of fresh fruits and vegetables and make sure to break your food into five servings a day and drink a lot of water. You have to have a good diet that is rich in proteins, minerals and vitamins. Carbohydrates and fat can be kept under control.

Step 3. Exercise

Begin simple exercises such as walking and then take up to other exercises, keep the repetitions low in the beginning and slowly increase them.

It is important for you to do lower abdomen targeted exercises such as sit ups, crunches, reverse crunches, side squats, leg lifts, scissors and so on combined with breathing exercises that help in making you peaceful.

You can do yoga; this would tone your body really well.

Step 4. Stop Unmindful Snacking

Do not snack on potato chips, biscuits and so on. These are so inviting and if you do not have control on your eating you might end up adding fat to your tummy rather than reducing it.

Step 5. De-stress Yourself

Young mothers get stressed with the added responsibility of the child, hormonal changes and change in their routine. However it is very important to distress, because stress would add to your gain weight some extra pounds which mostly happens due to increase in snacking habit while you are stressed.

Make sure you take some time for yourselves when the child is asleep and indulge in some activity like painting, meditation or just take a stroll in your home, or simply go to sleep. This will rejuvenate you and you would be able to take care of yourself better.

How long will it take for the tummy to shrink to normal?

There are a number of moms who never have any signs of having given birth to a baby at all. This most often has been seen in moms who have a single baby; however after the second baby most women begin putting an extra tire in their middle area.

Do not get depressed if your pregnancy pouch takes a long time to reduce, you have to remember that the skin and the fatty layer in the lower abdomen had been stretched for 9 months, though slowly, but completely, and to expect it to come back to normal immediately. It would at least take 9 months for the process to reverse, and this is the least, it might take longer too, so be patient and work out.
