Republic Day is celebrated throughout India on the 26th January commemorating the day when the constitution of India was adopted, in 1950.
Every year we have district celebrations, and this year I thought of sharing it here.
Janjgir -Champa is in the center of Chhattisgarh and is a district that is popular for the many temples, Mahanadi, Crocodiles, Handmade Kosa (Tussar silk) and education.
Here are some pictures that made this 68th Republic Day special in this district.
Republic Day 2017
Much effort was put into the celebrations this year, however I missed the parade that happens soon after flag hoisting because of another engagement I had.
I could get to the ground in time to see the cultural programs though.
The Indigenous Tribal Performance
Republic Day Celebrations Janjgir ChampaThis is my favorite about Chhattisgarh. The people here are so attached tot heir cultures that you would be able to see Tribal dance, food and festivals celebrated with pomp here.
I could give you a list of different foods and dances here. May be I need to start making that list soon.
