5 Modern Illness That are Prone to Affect Your Child and Steps You Need to Take Immediately

You Have Followed the Vaccination Chart, You are giving all HEALTH DRINKS as specified by the TV baba, You are giving all the VITAMIN SUPPLEMENTS as advised by NEIGHBOUR know it all Parent. And now you are happy your child is protected from all possible illness.

Well, not so easy – in this polluted, globally warmed, unsafe environment. Here is a list of things you need to know to maintain better health of your child.

OVER-WEIGHT AND UNDER-WEIGHT

The world has become fast and to add to it, there are ready-made foods, fast foods and junk food available. Though, these are not the healthy and nutritious option, kids start liking them and refuse taking healthier food.

Why You Should Be Worried

The so called modern foods or junk foods have the ability to bring about an imbalance in the hormones in the body of your child. Hormonal imbalance is the first culprit which brings about increase and decrease in weight.

SO if your child seems over weight, check his food.

Some food like your KFC chicken, inorganic EGGS, inorganic CHEESE, GMO corn, Broiler chicken, pesticide rich vegetables and fruits and even your rice and pulses inorganically produced.

All these food have been time and again proved to affect hormones, so make sure you go organic.

  1. Grow Your Own Food

Make sure to give the healthiest food to your child. You need to learn to grow your own vegetables and greens. This is the basics, you can begin growing or procuring other organic products with time. Learn and then Teach you children to grow the basic food on their own.

2. More Fresh Less Packed

You should make a thumb rule of eating more fresh food and very less of packed and processed food for your kids. this will make sure that they are not totally cut off from their favourites all at once. however reduce packed food as much as possible.

Weight management in children is important, they should not be over-weight or underweight, in both cases make sure to consult a qualified pediatrician.

RESPIRATORY INFECTION

Respiratory infection is classed into normal if your child gets respiratory infection 6 times in a year. However upper or lower tract respiratory infection more than 6 times in a year, that is something to worry about.

Environment is polluted and irritates your respiratory tract in all possible ways. It is important that you keep your child protected from it. Of course you cannot lock your child up right?

So what can you do?

There are a number of ways you can protect your child and the first one among them is to build up the immunity of your child.

  1. Turmeric Pepper Milk

Add half a spoon of turmeric powder and half spoon of pepper powder to one glass of milk and bring it to boil. Strain it and add sugar to it (preferably organic palm sugar). This drink is best for children from 2 years of age and fights against any kind of infection. When regularly taken, your child will be strong enough to fight the microbes from infecting his/her system.

  1. Betel Leaf Pepper

Crush a betel leaf with pepper and give one spoon of the extract with enough honey regularly. This again works very well for keeping the respiratory tract clean and healthy.

  1. Ginger Honey

Crush a small piece of ginger and give one spoon with enough honey. This again acts good for keeping the respiratory tract hale and healthy.

STOMACH INFECTION

Personal hygiene, unclean food and less immunity are the main culprits of stomach infections. You need to know that your stomach requires some good bacteria to keep itself working rightly.

FDA says a big NO-NO to antibacterial handwash, Yes! You read it right, FDA disapproves handwash, in fact it is time and again proven that a little dirt is good for your health. It is this dirt that actually keeps your own immune system working good and sharpens the system to be ready to fight when some unknown organism enters your gut.

Don’t make your children fragile by over protecting them, they need to develop the strength to fight newer and newer organisms that may seem to arise de novo.

What You Should DO?

  1. Encourage children to drink more water.
  2. Give at least one serving of curd or buttermilk in a day to boost growth of good bacteria in his/her stomach.
  3. One serving of greens in any form every alternate day.
  4. Proper potty training.

SKIN INFECTION

The exposure to chemicals (even in baby products like Johnson and Johnson), intake of food with toxic additives and this polluted environment lead to lots of skin allergies and infections in children.

The most common skin allergies that show up on the kids’ skin are eczema, Rash and Swelling. Also there may be skin irritation and warts, development of harness and so on.

What you can do?

  1. Bathing Powder

Make your own bathing powder using a pulse powder (preferably chana dhal), almonds and some khas khas. You can add some turmeric powder for girls. Soak 1 spoon of this bathing powder in milk or water prior to bath and then apply lavishly and bather.

Thisbathing powder brings a shine to the skin and removes any kind of infectious agent present on the skin.

  1. Cucumber and Aloe Vera

Soak cucumber in water and apply on the affected part. Aloe vera gel, straightly from the plant is best for skin problems apply them leave for at least 15 minutes and then wash it off with luke warm water.

  1. Omega 3Intake

Give lots of fish (salmon in particular), coconut oil, raw nuts, chia seeds, flax seed and some fresh fruits on a daily basis to your children. They would never get any kind of skin infections and in fact have glowing skin.

EYESIGHT AND DENTAL DEFORMALTIES

A recent study has explained how improper nutrition leads to improper development of bones in the skull, thus, changing the eye shape and causes vision problem.

Also, modern diet which is deficient of the bone building minerals causes tooth decay and dental deformity.

What You Need To DO?

  1. Add Greens

Add greens in your child’s diet as frequent as possible. This is very important for good eye sight.

  1. Yoga

Eye exercise and yoga are very important for children of this age. Constant strain to the eyes due to watching TV or computer makes them weak and they would find themselves wearing spectacles sooner than a generation earlier. Thus proper exercise would be enough to strengthen eye muscles and keep it healthy.

Yoga also keeps the body fit and encourages the complete system to stay healthy.

  1. Sunlight

Vitamin D3 is the vitamin that builds your bone. This vitamin is only made available from the sunlight. Always let children play in sunlight at least for an hour daily. You can get them to do Yoga early in the morning so that they are exposed to sunlight, early morning sun rays carries with it lots and lots of benefits such as curing skin problems, inducing production of vitamin D3, setting your digestive system right, ample energy and so on.

It is very important for parents to observe the children during their growing years. Some of the major factors that influence the kid’s health are food, environment, hygiene and lifestyle. A plant that is denied good nutrition and care cannot grow tall and strong. Our children too, are like plants. They need the proper nutrition and environment to grow into healthy individuals. By keeping track of these things and providing the best for the child’s health, parents can raise their kids as healthy individuals.
