Pooja Vidhi

1. Placing Kalsh

  • Place a raised platform facing east in your pooja room or any room you would like to perform the pooja. Lay a new red cloth on it and spread a bowl of rice on it, make sure to avoid the periphery. This would help in placing the kalash properly.
  • Fill three fourth of Kalash with water; place some rice grains, a flower, one beetle nut leaf and a coin in it.
  • Place 5 leaves on the mouth of the kalash and place a small plate on it. On the plate spread some rice and draw a lotus on it using turmeric powder.
  • On the lotus place a small idol of goddess Lakshmi, some silver and gold gold coins. Place oil lamps on both sides, agarbatti on the right side, Prasad, beetle leaves, turmeric powder, kumkum and camphor in the side.
  • Prepare akshada with rice and turmeric powder and place it in a plate along with flowers. Keep some tissue papers handy. Keep everything needed for the pooja nearby. Bathe, wear new clothes and get the blessings of your parents. Sit to the right of your husband while performing the pooja.
