Superfoods – what are they

Superfoods –are those amazing natural foods that are nutrient dense, rich in antioxidants, strong detoxicants and amazing pH balancers in your body.

In fact , they are not wrongly claimed to be the key to immortality (or at least a long life).

When people ask me what superfoods are my simple answer is always the following.

For all practical purposes one should understand that Superfoods or Miracle foods as they are sometimes called are foods that contain extremely dense concentration of vital nutrients in them.

These vital nutrients include among others phyto – detoxicants, minerals, vitamins, good fats and antioxidants.

These are called miracle foods too because they prevent many serious diseases, reduce effects of diseases, help lose weight, and keep your body healthy.

Why Superfoods Are Good For You

Super foods are found to be super healthy. They have so many benefits so as to enhance your health that you would wonder why you have not started having them earlier.

If you thought I am telling something new, wait,  superfoods are not something new or revolutionary.

They have been around for a very long time, we have had them in many different forms, what makes them special these days are the researches done on them and the facts proven.

Super foods are known to have the following advantages

Most super foods have all the major antioxidant vitamins required to boost your immune system namely beta carotene, Vitamin C and Vitamin E.

They also have minerals like magnesium and selenium that is required to boost your immune system and make you strong enough to fight against diseases and infections.

Researchers have found that omega-3 fatty acids present in many superfoods  lower the risk of heart disease, help arthritis and can possibly help with memory loss  as well as prevention of Alzheimer’s.

Antioxidants and phytonutrients found in superfoods help combat stress and anxiety. These antioxidants can also help improve your overall response to stress and stress-related symptoms.
